We started the Smarter Balanced Assessment (SBA) this week in 4th grade. This week we began with the English Language Arts (ELA) portion. The students seem very focused and are working hard to show what they know. We will start the Math portion on May 23rd.
I realize that all of the students took the SBA last year in 3rd grade but here is a link to some general information about the test ==> SBA. During the test my role is that of a test administrator and proctor. I am not allowed to give feedback, view their test or answer questions. I have a script which must be strictly followed in order to preserve the test's reliability and validity. I am able to monitor their progress from a "dashboard' on my computer since the test is administered electronically.
